Committee Meeting

Hui

Welcome to Irene Staples, Special Education Needs Coordinator at Southern Cross College in Mangere, who is joining our programme development group.

Email correspondence with NZPPTA Dr Adele Scott Advisory Officer | Professional Issues who has offered to share our presentationr e our programme in March 2022.

Karen attended the Pathways Advisory Group last week.

It was great to connect with you again and hear what’s happening in your communities.  Attached are the notes from the session and the three presentations that were shown. We will be in touch about next year's PAG later this year or early next year. If you do have any questions or thoughts you’d like to share with us please get in touch.

Karen's presentation went well and Robin Staples requested the ppt and passed it on to others – hence Irene has joined our group.

Jane Arlidge (tertiary) and Karen who are both on the unit standards writing group, will be contacting NZQA in the next few days to ask for an update on the plan to complete the writing, as the previous facilitator is in a new role and no longer with NZQA.

Liz has made contact with Te Hurinui and will be meeting with him – and talking about tikanga guidelines, symbolism and whakatauki etc and an ongoing adviser around our Te Tiriti obligations in the subject association and our programme.

We could do a membership drive on the Facebook page for Learning Support coordinators.

We need to have the website and something for them to look forward to. Wait until we have a wee bit more in place.

Motion: That our membership fee per school is $100 and for individuals is $25.

Let's pass on the information about the 'establishment' subject association to our networks.

We can go ahead and invoice all of our schools involved. In this way we can get some funds to provide koha for Esther's son and fulfil some costs for the domain name etc.

Karen is continuing to discuss compliance matters re the Programme Approval and Accreditation Document (PAAD) with our adviser Dr Nano Morris as this makes up a significant part of the application.
